We are currently looking for Senior Electrical, Senior Mechanical and Senior Dropped Objects Surveyors based within the Australia and Oceania Region to join our team and work together with our Clients towards Operational Excellence.

Profile

  • Assess mechanical equipment as outlined in the Horizon Resources survey checklist and other work scopes as required
  • Inspect mechanical systems equipment to ascertain system condition and to determine repairs required to meet acceptable operational standards
  • Follow Company and Client policies and procedures, in addition to site-specific rules and procedures
  • Understand relevant regulatory requirements and their application to Client equipment, installation, operations and the general scope of work
  • Identify areas and details related to non-compliance
  • Utilise mechanical experience to provide solutions and recommend improvements to Client maintenance procedures, test plans and operations etc
  • Verify adherence to governing body rules, regulations, and recommendations
  • Provide technical expertise relating to mechanical systems, to support the delivery of Client services

Core Competencies and Skill Sets

  • 10-15+ years of operational experience and preferably survey experience
  • Minimum 5+ years of inspection experience with available references
  • Excellent organization and presentation skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate technical issues to clients
  • Ability to work independently
  • Good leadership and cultural awareness skills
  • Preferable - mechanical vocational certificate or engineering qualification
  • A passion for providing exceptional service to clients

  • Inspect all Hazardous Area Equipment located in classified “Hazardous Area Locations”
  • Understand relevant regulatory requirements and their application to Client equipment, installation, operations and the general scope of work
  • Undertake reporting in relation to inspections
  • Follow Company and Client policies and procedures, in addition to site-specific rules and procedures
  • Identify areas and details related to non-compliance

  • Review Dropped Objects documentation
  • Undertake reporting in relation to inspections
  • Follow Company and Client policies and procedures, in addition to site-specific rules and procedures
  • Provide solutions and recommend improvements to Client procedures, documents and training regimes
  • Ability to develop system documentation, picture books etc and provide relevant training to client staff.

Horizon Resources (part of the MR Group) is seeking a client focused, innovative and passionate Operations Manager - Technical and Business Development to join our Eastern Australia based team. You will be servicing Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea markets from our Group’s Brisbane office (with flexible working from home arrangements).  In this full-time role, you will be responsible for the management and delivery of the group’s technical operations, service deliverables and business development functions.

About MR Group:

The ModuResources Group supports the upstream Oil and Gas industry in drilling wells more safely and efficiently by reducing non-productive time and establishing a safe working environment. The ModuResources Group offers an integrated suite of services that includes rig inspection solutions, second-party services, well engineering consultancy services and accreditation and specialist training.

 

The Position:

This challenging and rewarding role will be responsible for supporting our Clients and staff across our operations. The Operations Manager plays a key role within the organisation and maintains the day to day operations for the group’s service lines.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Liaison with and providing technical support and advice for Clients and staff
  • Building upon and development of new business across all service lines with particular emphasis on project management, engineering and labour hire services as well as maintaining existing business
  • Conduct proposal, tender, contract commercial activities including development of technical scopes of work
  • Review and input into technical reports and associated deliverables
  • Assistance with business planning, market characterization, forecasting, budgeting and reporting

Applicants should ideally be trade or degree qualified with a minimum of 10-15 years operational experience, be willing to travel as required, and possess good communication skills with a keen eye for detail. A good knowledge of the English language, both oral and written as well as computer literacy form important skills as part of the role.
